Philadelphia 76ers star Tyrese Maxey revealed key details about his relationship with LeBron James.

The Philadelphia 76ers had a terrible 2024-25 NBA season, finishing as the 13th seed in the Eastern Conference.

However, there were still a few silver linings for the team, including Tyrese Maxey’s continued growth as a starter.

Speaking of Maxey, the 24-year-old diligently works on his skills during the offseason. It was proven once again when Maxey was seen working out with Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James.

Even though James is 40 years old, he remains one of the best players in the league. A key reason behind it is his dedication to continuously improving during the offseason.

James is often seen working out with other NBA stars. As mentioned earlier, LBJ’s most recent viral workout was with 76ers’ Maxey.

However, the two stars training together is not a coincidence, as Maxey recently reflected on it during an appearance on The Deep 3 podcast.

“This is gonna sound weird, but it’s like good, it’s like normal now, you know what I’m saying? Like I worked out with him my first time when I was like 19 years old.

“Now like seeing him, just like a big brother, every single summer, it’s always fun,” Maxey said.

LeBron James still wants to throw down dunks at 40 years old, says Tyrese Maxey

Not many players could match James’ ferocity at the rim during the prime of his career. After all, it was common to see LBJ pull off vicious dunks.

As the Lakers star has gotten older, he has reduced those flashy plays on the court. But Maxey recently revealed that James still wants lobs directed at him during practice.

“I see Bron, and he’s like, ‘Throw it up, throw it up!’ I’m like, ‘Nah man, you don’t got it no more.’ Nah, he want, he still wants to cock it back, and I’m like, ‘Man, you crazy,’” Maxey revealed.

It’s no surprise that Maxey rejects James’ wish because it could lead to a serious injury. It feels like that the King forgets he’s gearing up for Year 23 in the NBA.
