There is no NBA basketball at the moment because the Summer League is over and the preseason is still two months away.
However, many former NBA players are competing in the popular Big3 league throughout the summer.
Two of the biggest names are seven-time All-Star Joe Johnson and three-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard.
Now, some fans think one Big3 star should return to the NBA after dominating in his most recent game.

Montrezl Harrell played eight seasons in the NBA, including three years with the Los Angeles Clippers between 2018 and 2020.
His career highlight was winning the Sixth Man of the Year award in 2020 after averaging 18.6 points and 7.1 rebounds off the bench.
Harrell’s last spell in the NBA was with the Philadelphia 76ers in the 2022-23 season, and he now plays for the Adelaide 36ers in the Australian NBL.
Harrell also represents the Chicago Triplets in the Big3 league, where he just scored 28 points in a 50-41 win against Miami 305.
After his impressive performance, fans called for the former Los Angeles Lakers player to return to the NBA next season.
“Bro should be in the NBA,” one wrote. “We need this energy in the NBA man,” posted another.
Anyone who doesn’t think @thebig3 is the most competitive basketball out there haven’t watched. You don’t get this intensity except maybe UFC, NFL and WNBA. That’s it. https://t.co/R1CC72sOta

“He should still be in the NBA,” two more X users commented. “Forgot about Montrezl Harrell. Legend,” read another response.
“No way this dude is in the BIG3… he was just out there playing with Kawhi Leonard,” a Clippers fan pointed out.
One user then suggested Harrell could even still start for the Washington Wizards. “Wizards can still use him in the starting lineup,” he said.
How Montrezl Harrell’s Big3 stats compare to other ex-NBA stars
Harrell has played seven Big3 games this season, and his stats are superb. He is scoring 18.9 points per game in exactly the same minutes.
The Triplets have the best record in the league (5-2), thanks to Harrell’s offense and their league-leading defense.

However, six players have scored more PPG than Harrell in 2025. Johnson leads the league with an incredible 29.5, although he has only played twice.
Another ex-LA Laker, Michael Beasley, possibly has the best stat line. He’s putting up 22 points, seven rebounds, and an assist in just 17 minutes every game.
