After a breakout 2024-25 campaign, Wagner has seemingly put his head down and committed to adding more skills to his arsenal.
Among them seems to be an improved three-point shot, as a clip of Wagner’s shooting from deep went viral on X.
Upon seeing the smooth bucket from deep, Magic fans on X were beyond excited.
“That looked really good, I hope his C&S mechanics look the same,” one fan wrote. While another added: “Oh my goodness.”
“If he figures that out, 30 PPG,” a third fan announced.
“Definitely looks a lot better, no hitch,” a fourth fan proudly stated.
“Bro, if Franz is pullin up like that next season, it’s wraps… the league is not ready,” a fan issued a warning.
“He’s moving differently,” a sixth fan wrote on X.
With Wagner emerging as the second option behind Paolo Banchero last season, it seems that the 24-year-old isn’t giving up that role anytime soon.
Franz Wagner’s 2024-25 season stats
As mentioned earlier, Wagner skyrocketed to star status for the Magic during the 2024-25 NBA season.
It was mostly due to his season averages of 24.2 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.7 assists per game over 60 matchups for the team.
While the Magic forward’s numbers were decent, the same cannot be said for his three-point shooting. After all, Wagner shot just 29.5% from deep.
This marked Wagner’s second-straight season of shooting below 30% from the three-point line. But after seeing Wagner’s new viral three-point shot, fans should expect a more efficient season from deep.
