New Suns forward Dillon Brooks discusses playing with Devin Booker

New Phoenix Suns forward Dillon Brooks on joining the Phoenix Suns, playing with Devin Booker and more.

Bradley Beal’s expected buyout with the Phoenix Suns is unaffected by his $13.4 million advance payment on his 2025-26 salary.Beal must forfeit at least $13.9 million for the Suns to stretch the remaining $110 million on his contract.

The advance payment Bradley Beal is set to receive this month on his 2025-26 salary has no impact on the expected buyout with the Phoenix Suns, league sources informed The Arizona Republic.

Players can receive up to 25% of their annual salary as of July 1.

The advance payment for Beal is $13.4 million, league sources informed The Republic. Beal is due $53.6 million for the 2025-26 season.

The Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks and Golden State Warriors have been reported teams of interest. A player typically wants to have a team lined up to land to ensure that the team pays the remaining amount after being bought out and the city is a good fit for his family.

Beal has two years left in his contract that’s set to pay him a total of $110 million. He must give back at least $13.9 million for the Suns to stretch the remainder of his deal, league sources informed The Republic.

The three-time All-Star is entering the fourth year of a five-year, $251-million deal.

Beal would be able to go to any team after a buyout, but the buyout voids his contract, and he’d no longer have a no-trade clause.

The Suns acquired Beal in the summer of 2023 in a trade with Washington that sent Chris Paul to the Wizards. Paul later joined the Golden State Warriors for the 2023-24 season.

The move paired Beal with Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, giving Phoenix championship expectations under new team owner Mat Ishbia.

Beal averaged 17.6 points in his two seasons in Phoenix, but he played a total of 106 games (53 each season) and the Suns fell way short of championship expectations.

Minnesota swept them in the first round of the 2024 playoffs. The Suns then failed to make the playoffs last season for the first time since 2019-20 after winning just 36 games.
