Similar to the saga with Big Z several summers ago, the BBN has been worried about the potential arrival and eligibility of the Croatian forward. Well, according to a new report, he will be arriving in Lexington very soon.

According to a report by Jack Pilgrim of KSR, Jelavic is expected to be on campus by the end of the month to start the fall semester. Jelavic himself confirmed that news on his Instagram story last night, saying “expected to be here in two weeks or less.”

The obvious hole on this roster is the front-court at the moment. With Jayden Quaintance still recovering from his ACL injury, that leaves Brandon Garrison and Malachi Moreno as the only length on the roster at the moment. Known more for his offensive skillset, Jelavic has shown the ability, however, to be a solid rim protector, which will be more than welcomed with the tough non-conference schedule to start the season.

This team has shown some solid potential throughout these summer workouts. Adding a player like Jelavic to the mix will only push the ceiling higher for Mark Pope’s squad this season.
