Steve Kerr believes Stephen Curry and his side escaped with one of the greatest wins of their careers.
Steve Kerr has had an illustrious career, both as a player and as a head coach. After a brilliant NBA run where Kerr won five NBA championships, he turned his focus to coaching.
It was going to be hard to top what he did in his playing career. But Kerr managed to do so, becoming an integral part of the Golden State Warriors’ dynasty.
As the head coach of the Warriors from 2014, Kerr helped bring about a decade of dominance for Golden State, reaching six NBA Finals and winning four NBA championships.
Kerr has cemented himself as one of the greatest coaches in NBA history. But it isn’t just his success in the NBA that defines him as a head coach.
Steve Kerr also coached Team USA to the 2024 Olympic Gold Medal. And it was there that Kerr experienced the greatest game of his career.

Steve Kerr spoke recently on the Glue Guys podcast. When talking about the best game of basketball he has ever been involved in, he didn’t have to look back too far.
Kerr named the 2024 Olympic semifinal game between Team USA and Serbia as the best game he’s ever seen. In fact, he believes that Team USA escaped with a win over Serbia.
“The Serbia game was the greatest basketball game I’ve ever been involved with. We were lucky to win, but we had to make every play, and our guys did it down the stretch. It was incredible.”
Team USA and Serbia had a battle for the ages on the Olympic stage. Due to the close nature of the game, there was some controversy regarding the officiating.
Stephen Curry seals the win in Gold Medal game
During the same podcast, Steve Kerr also praised Stephen Curry for his brilliant performance in the gold medal game against France.
“The France game was about Steph and finishing the game with those four threes in the last couple of minutes. Just iconic and incredible to be part of that and have that memory.”
Against France, Stephen Curry hit some huge shots to help them seal the win. In his 24-point performance, Curry showed why he is the greatest shooter of all time.
Perhaps Kerr will get to witness another game like he did when Team USA vanquished Serbia and France, although he would like to have an easier day at work.
