The Philadelphia 76ers signed the versatile Trendon Watford to a 2-year $5.3 million deal. The idea is that the 4-year forward out of LSU will step in and produce in a variety of ways such as playmaking and being able to lead a break off the rebound. He can be an invaluable piece.

Watford is also very close to Sixers star Tyrese Maxey. The two have kept a tight-knit friendship over the years and Philadelphia’s star guard expressed happiness that Watford is now with the Sixers. He also explained in detail how he can help the team as they now move forward.

For those who are interested in uniform numbers, Watford wore No. 9 as a member of the Brooklyn Nets. Obviously, that number is occupied by Kelly Oubre Jr. with the Sixers so Watford has to choose a different number. He will reportedly rock with No. 12 heading into his first year with the Sixers.

Whatever number Watford wears in 2025-26, the Sixers hope he can step in and produce the way they are hoping for when the season begins.
