WVU Men’s Basketball will face off against Ohio State University in the Cleveland Hoops Showdown on Dec. 13 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio, per a release Monday.
The matchup is part of a doubleheader that will feature Ohio University against St. Bonaventure University.
This is the third meeting between WVU and Ohio State since 2019. The Buckeyes won the latest matchup 78-75 in overtime on Dec. 30, 2023, at Rocket Arena.
WVU Men’s Basketball Head Coach Ross Hodge called the matchup “exciting.”
“This is another exciting early season matchup that we are looking forward to playing against a really solid team from the Big Ten Conference,” Hodge said. … “It also gives our team the opportunity to play in an NBA arena with the likelihood of playing on national television in December.”
