Cooper Flagg has had a wild few months, from the Final Four to the NBA Draft and being the #1 pick of the Dallas Mavericks.
The demands on him have surely been insane, and that doesn’t even touch on the intense media interest.

Like his hero Larry Bird, Flagg is from a small town, with Newport, Maine, being a bit larger at 3,133 souls to 1,753.
To his credit though as Flagg’s star has risen, he has not forgotten his home town or state. He flew back home to watch his old classmates graduate (Flagg would have graduated this June if he had stayed home and not reclassified)
He and his twin brother Ace oversaw the second Cooper and Ace Flagg ProCamp at the University of Maine this weekend.
Mom Kelly says that “Everywhere else in the country that he goes, he’s kind of a big deal. It’s ‘Wow, it’s Cooper Flagg,’ and there’s security and all of those things that come along with it. And here he gets to just be Cooper, the kid from Maine. He’s a hometown kid, and he likes getting to come back to his roots, be himself and not have to worry about the outside world.”

Things have changed of course, but it must be nice to get home and just be himself.
