Where would star Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum rank in the NBA next season if he was healthy? The St. Louis native of course will miss most if not all of next season as he recuperates from a torn Achilles tendon sustained against the New York Knicks in the 2025 NBA Eastern Conference Semifinals, and thus won’t be much of a factor in terms of how his play could shift the standings of the league and the postseason beyond it.
But Tatum was on the precipice of the peak of his prime years before the injury took him out of the conversation for the 2025-26 season. And as a regular finisher in the top five of Most Valuable Player voting, there is a case to be made that the Duke alum could have cemented his status as a top-five player in the league this season.
