The event, which aims to connect with communities and promote healthy living, will kick off on September 15 in Ontario and conclude on September 19 in Gresham.
The rally will make stops in Pendleton on September 17 and The Dalles on September 18. Since its inception in 2013, the Rip City Rally has visited 38 cities, covering over 5,800 miles across Oregon. This year, the rally will cover 756 miles.
Trail Blazers and Moda Health representatives will engage with students at local schools through assemblies, P.E. activities, and career panels. Each day will culminate in a community fair from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., featuring games, giveaways, and appearances by Trail Blazers mascots Blaze the Trail Cat and Douglas Fur, along with the BlazerDancers.
Moda Health will host a booth at each fair, offering information on healthy living and a raffle for signed Blazer merchandise. Members of Moda Health and Delta Dental of Oregon can present their membership cards for a special gift.
Each stop will include a ribbon-cutting ceremony and a gift presentation with city officials. Moda Health will also highlight a local nonprofit partner at each location, providing a monetary donation to support their work. The nonprofits include the Boys & Girls Club of the Western Treasure Valley in Ontario, the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation in Pendleton, YouthThink in The Dalles, and the Care Oregon Boys & Girls Club at Rockwood in Gresham.
The Rip City Fair locations are as follows: Ontario at Four Rivers Cultural Center, Pendleton at Pendleton Convention Center, The Dalles at Riverfront Park, and Gresham at The Gresham Arts Plaza.
Trail Blazers personalities, including broadcasters and in-arena host Todd Bosma, will participate in various legs of the rally. For more information and updates, visit the Trail Blazers’ website.
