Where will the Boston Celtics finish in the NBA’s Atlantic Division standings by the end of the 2025-26 regular season? It is safe to say that the Celtics would have to be beset by some pretty serious disasters to finish worse than what is being projected from the likes of the Brooklyn Nets. And it would be nearly as miraculous for a club missing its best player in star forward Jayson Tatum to keep up with the likes of the New York Knicks.
But that still leaves a pretty wide range of slots for Boston to end up finishing in, and it seems more likely than not that the Celtics will need to make the postseason via a play-in spot if they are going to make it all. But that does not mean the team will not make the postseason outright by finishing in the top six in the East, meaning they’d be one of the best Atlantic Division teams by default.
