Amid recent rumors about what led to Draymond Green punching Jordan Poole in a Golden State Warriors’ practice in 2022, Green spoke up.
The Warriors veteran posted a hat emoji in response to a rumor about the altercation, indicating that he’s calling “cap.”
The incident between Green and Poole occurred in 2022, just months after the two helped Golden State win a title. The two were able to co-exist during the 2022-23 campaign, but Poole was traded to the Washington Wizards ahead of the 2023-24 season.
While it’s unclear whether Green and Poole have reconciled in the years since, Green has stated his regret plenty of times. After a Wizards-Warriors game in January, Poole said that he loves “most of the guys over there,” a comment Green assumed was about him.
On the Pivot Podcast earlier this summer, Green once again recognized his mistake.
“Everybody said, ‘Oh, man, but you were ten years in. You should know better,'” he said. “… But it’s the lessons like that that ultimately make me who I am to this day, because man, I f–ked that up.”
Whether Poole and Green will ever be able to truly repair their relationship is unclear, but for now they’ll both look to keep their focus on the court.
