SAN FRANCISCO — Shot clock issues paused the Indiana Fever‘s game against the Golden State Valkyries at the Chase Center on Sunday night.
The first interruption happened with around 9:25 on the clock, as the shot clock didn’t reset when the Fever got possession after a missed shot from the Valkyries. Play stopped for about five minutes as the operations crew worked with the shot clock, then resumed.

Play stopped again about a minute of game time later, when the shot clock again didn’t reset after the Fever got possession.
“Earlier today the Golden State Valkyries were delayed due to a technical issue with the shot clocks due to a power outage this morning,” the team said in a statement. “Game play has resumed, and these issues will be addressed accordingly.”
Officials then had to take a 19-minute pause in the game, to the point where some players ended up going back to the locker room for a short time.
Caitlin Clark, who is out because of her right groin injury, took the time to talk to San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle, a fellow Iowa alum who was sitting courtside for the game.
Play eventually resumed with the over-basket shot clocks off. The Chase Center instead installed portable shot clocks on the baseline floor to the right of each basket.
