Seemingly every program in college basketball is vying for the talents of Deron Rippey Jr., a 5-star point guard out of Blairstown, NJ. This past week, the top-ranked point guard in the 2026 recruiting class cut his list of schools down to 10, with Duke being included.

Jon Scheyer and the Blue Devils join fellow ACC members Louisville, Miami, North Carolina, NC State and Syracuse, along with Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky and Alabama in Rippey’s top ten.

On Sept. 4, Scheyer was joined by two staff members on a home visit where they met up with Rippey and his father.

Mark Pope and some of Kentucky’s staff were there the next day.

Rippey has set official visits for Duke, Kentucky, Alabama, Texas and Syracuse in October.
