After years of rebuilding, it’s time for the Chicago Bulls to make a move towards contention. While it wouldn’t make sense for them to try to acquire an extremely old veteran, they should be adding players who can help them win right now.
On the other side of the coin, the Toronto Raptors need to do the exact opposite. The Raptors haven’t won more than 40 games since the 2022-23 season.
With that being the case, it would be wise for the Raptors to sell off Ingram while his value is still high. Ingram is now 28 years old, and by the time the Raptors are ready to compete, his production will likely dip.
Below, we’ll be creating a mock trade between the Raptors and Bulls that would make sense for both sides before breaking down why.
This is a PREDICTION, not a REPORT.

Toronto Raptors Trading Brandon Ingram to the Chicago Bulls
Chicago Bulls Receive: Brandon Ingram
Toronto Raptors Receive: Zach Collins, Patrick Williams, 2026 1st Round Pick, 2028 1st Round Pick, 2030 2nd Round Pick
It’s not a flashy deal for the Raptors, but they get youth and a lot of it. Although Patrick Williams hasn’t lived up to the hype, he’s a player worth taking a shot on at cost.
The Raptors get two players who are younger than Ingram while also netting two first-rounders and a second round pick. Williams was drafted fourth overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, and his time in Chicago has been less than ideal.
That said, Williams clearly has potential. Sometimes, in order for these prospects to reach their full potential, all they need is a change of scenery. Zach Collins isn’t elite, but he’s 27 years old and a solid frontcourt option.
Does Brandon Ingram Fit in Chicago?
The Bulls absolutely need a boost in scoring for their starting lineup. If the Bulls were able to make this move, they would have a much different starting lineup.
Adding Ingram would most likely create a lineup of Ayo Dosunmu, Coby White, Ingram, Matas Buzelis, and Nikola Vucevic. While this might not be an NBA Finals-level roster, it’s a step in the right direction.
Chicago Bulls 2025-2026 Outlook
As long as the Bulls are trying to compete, it makes sense to add Ingram. At 28 years old, if the Bulls can continue to improve their roster each year, Ingram would have a big part of this team’s success.
Right now, the Bulls have +470 odds to even make the playoffs next year on FanDuel. While Ingram may not put the Bulls as a lock to make the playoffs, it would certainly put them a lot closer to their goal.
Adding Ingram wouldn’t be the only move the Bulls would need to make if they want to contend. However, it’s a trade that would set the Bulls in the right direction.
Brandon Ingram Stats
Through nine years in the NBA, Ingram has put up some very good seasons with strong stats. Ever since Ingram broke out in the 2019-20 season, he’s yet to have less than 20 PPG.
Most recently in the 2024-25 season, Ingram had 22.2 PPG, 5.6 REB, 5.2 AST, and 0.9 STL. Ingram provides value as a fantastic scorer, and it wouldn’t be shocking if Chicago were interested in adding him to their roster. Again, this is just a trade prediction.
