Draymond Green spoke about his favorite player to watch in the NBA today, and it’s an answer fans will be split on.

Draymond Green has become one of the NBA’s most decorated veterans. The four-time NBA champion has accomplished a lot in the NBA and has shown that he is an incredibly smart player.

While the Golden State Warriors forward is definitely a polarizing figure, you can’t deny just how great he is at reading the game.

Even Dwyane Wade has defended Green’s basketball IQ, comparing him to some of the smartest players in the history of the game.

Green is a basketball savant who can identify talent with relative ease. But his latest answer about his favorite player in the NBA might have some fans questioning that talent.

Draymond Green appeared on popular streamer Kai Cenat’s ‘Mafiathon’ stream recently, where he answered several questions from him and his fans.

When discussing his favorite player in the NBA, Green said Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, admiring his offensive ability to draw fouls and dismissing complaints about Shai being a foul artist.

“My favorite is Shai. Because Shai is just going to get to a bucket. People will be complaining, like, ‘Yo, he’s drawing fouls.’ That’s a skill!

“There is an art to that. If you’re a dumb defender and you foul, that’s your fault. That’s no knock to him that he knows how to get fouls.”

Green makes an excellent point, as Gilgeous-Alexander has been dubbed a free-throw merchant by critics for how frequently he earns fouls and gets to the free-throw line.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earned his MVP award with excellent play

There is no denying that Shai Gilgeous-Alexander earned his MVP award last season. Despite what critics might suggest, Shai was the obvious choice to win.

He led the best offense in the NBA in scoring, was an excellent defender, won the scoring title, and helped the OKC Thunder win 68 games last season.

In fact, Shai was outdone by Giannis Antetokounmpo, the NBA’s second-leading scorer behind him, when it came to attempted free throws per game.

So Shai was a better scorer than Giannis despite making it to the free-throw line less than him. While fans might get frustrated with Shai’s ability to draw fouls, that doesn’t take away from his immense talent.
