The Brooklyn Nets over one month away from the beginning of the 2025-26 NBA regular season as the team seeks to have a campaign that the franchise and fanbase can approve of. Brooklyn has been making plenty of moves this offseason after a 2024-25 season in which the team finished with a lowly 26-56 record, but there is an event that fans can be happy for.
“The Brooklyn Nets will return to Brooklyn’s Potomac Playground in Bed-Stuy for their annual Practice in the Park, presented by Ticketmaster, on Saturday, Sept. 27 where fans can watch the Nets take the court for drills as they prepare for the upcoming season,” the Nets announced in a press release on Wednesday. The Nets usually have a practice that the Brooklyn community can take part in for the experience.
In addition to watching players like Cam Thomas and Michael Porter Jr. practice and participate in drills, fans will be able to also experience: Gersh Park vs. Zone 6 Park basketball game, Type.Set.Brooklyn Celebrity Game, Brooklyn Basketball combine, and Vendor Village. All of these events provide Nets fans with the chance to see their favorite players while being part of the community that embraces the Nets.
Last year, the Nets held “Practice In The Park” at the same place as this year, but the event was on Oct. 13 so it seems like the team is excited to get these players in front of the fans. This season should present a different feel for those attending the event as the Nets head into the 2025-26 campaign with five rookies from the 2025 NBA Draft, including Egor Demin, the eighth overall pick.
“Community is central to everything we do and our annual Practice in the Park is a unique opportunity for us to tip off the season with our fans,” Nets general manager Sean Marks said prior to last year’s “Practice In The Park” event. “Each year we look forward to bringing the sport outside directly to our fans, playing on the same courts they play on each day. We couldn’t be more excited to bring Practice in the Park to Bed-Stuy, one of the most iconic neighborhoods in the borough.”
