The Knicks intend to sign free agent guard Garrison Mathews to a training camp contract, reports Stefan Bondy of The New York Post (via Twitter).

According to Bondy, Mathews is expected to compete for a spot on New York’s standard roster. As a six-year NBA veteran, Mathews is no longer eligible for a two-way deal.

The Knicks just agreed to re-sign Landry Shamet to a one-year deal. Bondy’s reporting suggests the two sharpshooters may competing against each other for a roster spot, barring a trade or two to create more financial flexibility.
