Ahead of his second season with the Washington Huskies, Danny Sprinkle has one of the most talented rosters in the Big Ten at his disposal after an influx of talent from the transfer portal.

With the acquisition of former USC stars Desmond Claude and Wesley Yates III, alongside former East Tennessee State star and SoCon Player of the Year Quimari Peterson in the backcourt, the Huskies have an elite trio of experienced scorers in the backcourt.

Combined with sophomore Zoom Diallo and promising four-star freshmen JJ Mandaquit and Courtland Muldrew, Sprinkle has a vastly improved rotation full of promising scorers that could turn Washington into a staunch competitor in the conference.

In the frontcourt, led by Lipscomb transfer and ASun Player of the Year Jacob Ognacevic, along with fellow transfer portal acquisitions Mady Traore, Christian Nitu, Lathan Somerville, and Bryson Tucker, the Huskies have a Big Ten-caliber frontcourt.

That’s without mentioning returning sixth-year center Franck Kepnang and projected first-round pick Hannes Steinbach, who help make Washington’s rotation down low night-and-day different from Sprinkle’s first year at the helm. The much-improved roster has led to plenty of experts, including CBS Sports’ Jon Rothstein.

“Washington is going to, in my opinion, push for a spot in the top half of the Big Ten standings,” Rothstein said on Inside College Basketball Now.

“Washington, to me, 13 wins a year ago…should be a 20-plus win team in 25-26, and go from last place in the Big Ten, to a team that will push for the top half of the Big Ten standings.”
