The Philadelphia 76ers are getting set to begin camp soon and there is still no deal done with restricted free agent Quentin Grimes. The Sixers are still looking to come up with the right deal to bring him back after such a productive run after the deadline, but time is running out and it looks like he is headed to the qualifying offer.

The Sixers acquired Grimes from the Dallas Mavericks at the deadline and he averaged 21.9 points per game for Philadelphia, showing off his three-level scoring ability. He was terrific in isolation with the Sixers, and he scored over 40 points twice, including a career-high 46 against the Houston Rockets on the road.

However, as Grimes and the Sixers continue through the offseason, they have not been able to come close to a deal just yet. Per insider Jake Fischer via Marc Stein’s substack:

When it comes to Quentin Grimes, though, there has been no tangible movement to relay when it comes to his ongoing restricted free agency stalemate with the team.

It will be interesting to see what happens down the stretch of the offseason. The Sixers would like to bring Grimes back on the roster. He is an important offensive piece to this roster and coach Nick Nurse would likely want to see what he has in a 3-guard lineup of Grimes-Tyrese Maxey-Jared McCain.
