Former NBA player Channing Frye called out Pablo Torre over his reporting on the bombshell Kawhi Leonard story that has taken over NBA headlines in recent days.

“First of all, why you snitchin? Who cares?” Frye said on the Road Trippin’ podcast when Richard Jefferson, Kendrick Perkins, Frye and Allie Clifton hosted Mark Cuban (via Awful Announcing).

That prompted Torre, who broke the story of the L.A. Clippers allegedly paying Leonard $28 million for a no-show job to circumvent the NBA salary cap, to respond.

“I don’t know which of these two questions is worse tbh”

Torre on Wednesday released a potential “smoking gun” report tying James Wong, the only minority owner of the Clippers, to payments to Leonard via the now-defunct company Aspiration.

Frye, who averaged 8.7 points and 4.5 rebounds in 890 career games, apparently doesn’t know the difference between a snitch and a reporter.

A reporter’s job is to inform the public factually and objectively, while a snitch provides information to authorities, often for personal gain or to get someone in trouble.

The NBA is currently conducting an investigation into the Clippers. Commissioner Adam Silver said Wednesday the burden of proof is on the league to prove the Clippers broke the rules. If found guilty, the punishments could be severe.

“(The NBA) will look through all (the Clippers’) deals now,” an NBA executive told NJ Advance Media’s Adam Zagoria. “They have a sh*t ton of problems coming.”
