Star Boston Celtics forward Jaylen Brown is keeping busy this offseason with races around the city of Boston with popular YouTube influencers and trips to visit his middle school alma mater in suburban Georgia. But the Marietta native has also been thinking plenty about the season to come with the Celtics, and opened up a bit about what this offseason has been like for him in regard to the 2025-26 regular season.

Speaking on a recent episode of the Atlanta-area radio station V-103 Atlanta The People’s Station “Big Tigger and Jazzy McBee” show, Brown shed some light on his prep with Boston for next season. “It’s definitely going to be a transition,” said the Cal alum.

“A lot of my guys are no longer with us. They are alive,” clarified Brown with a chuckle, “but they’ve moved on, transitioned, they have gone to another team.”

“It’s going to be different this year,” he added. “We have got some new players, but it’s a great opportunity to show my leadership, you know? Welcome guys into the organization, welcome guys onto the team, and try to come out there and make some noise.”

With his costar on the wing Jayson Tatum rehabbing a torn Achilles tendon for most of if not all of this coming season, Brown will be the team’s leader and focal point, and he will have an opportunity to lead the team for the first time in his NBA career. And so far, everything is pointing in the right direction for the Celtics forward to succeed in that role.
