Regrettably not participating, Isaiah Hartenstein cheered on Germany from afar on Sunday. The NBA champion celebrated another finals win as his old home country collected gold medals.
Germany delivered an 88-83 win over Turkey in the 2025 EuroBasket finals. Dennis Schroder led the way with 16 points and 12 assists. He scored the final six points to seal the victory over Alperen Sengun and company. Germany finished the tournament with a perfect 9-0 record.
Hartenstein took to social media to celebrate the win. He posted “Yesssirr!!” on his Instagram story. Hoping to play, the 27-year-old was ruled out of the EuroBasket tournament as he recovered from an Achilles tendon injury. He played deep into the summer as the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the 2025 NBA Finals.
The 2025 EuroBasket took place from Aug. 27 to Sept. 14. 24 teams participated and were split into four groups. Once group play ended, 16 teams advanced to the knockout tournament. This was Germany’s first EuroBasket title since 1993. They also won the 2023 FIBA World Cup.
Hartenstein had a career season on the Thunder. He averaged 11.2 points and 10.7 rebounds. They had a historic 68-14 regular-season record and won the Larry O’Brien trophy with him as a starter next to Chet Holmgren.
