The 2025 NBA Draft didn’t do the Sacramento Kings any favors on Monday night, as the team remained in the 13th spot. It was their highest possibility of outcomes.

Due to their previous Kevin Huerter trade with the Hawks, the pick will be conveyed to Atlanta. It removes new general manager Scott Perry from any current first-round draft capital this season but frees up their future assets that were included in the protections — including their own 2026 first-round pick.

They still own the 42nd pick in 2025 NBA Draft. Keon Ellis, an undrafted player from the 2022 NBA Draft, wasn’t lucky enough to will Sacramento into the top four.

Dallas, who had the 12th best odds (1.8 percent chance) of securing the number one pick, where most expect Duke forward Cooper Flagg to be taken, won the lottery.
