If Philadelphia 76ers fans needed another reason to be excited for the upcoming season, they got their wish on Thursday, September 18. The Sixers’ social media account on X provided the first look at a throwback court that will be in use for multiple games in the upcoming season.
The throwback design is straight out of the early 2000s era and features many recognizable elements from that period. However, it’s clear that the “76ers” logo in the middle of the court has been enlarged significantly, making it stand out on first glance.
According to FOX29, the Sixers will play a total of 14 games on the throwback design, which is designed to pay homage to Allen Iverson’s MVP season with the franchise back in 2001. The first game with the old-school look will come on November 8, when the Sixers face the Toronto Raptors, with the final game coming on April 12, 2026, against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Sixers fans will undoubtedly hope that having the throwback design will help embolden the current roster and give them the motivation to re-create the success of the 2001 season, where the Sixers were crowned Eastern Conference champions following a 4-3 series win over Milwaukee.
