The Boston Celtics are back in Auerbach Center, preparing for the season ahead with a new cohort of incoming players from the 2025 NBA Draft. And while those rookies may not see the floor with Boston every night to start the campaign, it will nonetheless still be a critical season for their development, whether it comes in the practice facility, sporadic stints with the parent club, or in expanded minutes with the Maine Celtics up in Portland. “Being drafted by Boston was really good news for me,” said Celtics first round pick Hugo Gonzalez in a clip circulated by the team on social media recently. “I’m pretty happy for it … I’m 100% every time I’m on the court.”
“You know, you always dream about getting to the NBA, but when it actually happens, it’s a different type of feeling,” echoed second-round pick Max Shulga. “… It’s a great opportunity and responsibility.”

“The message here with those guys is real simple,” offered Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens. “Give it your very all. If other things get in the way of that, then it’s a tough league.”
