Normally, I’d look at the talk on sports TV and laugh at this one.
BUT! We are talking about the Dallas Mavericks, a franchise with a general manager who just made one of the worst trades involving Luka Doncic. Nothing is so outlandish now.

Which brings us to what fans and talking heads are wondering: would Nico Harrison really trade the No. 1 pick that he just got in the 2025 NBA Draft … for Giannis Antetokounmpo?
NBA MOCK DRAFT 2025: The complete first round after the order was set
Sure, there’s some buzz about how maybe the Spurs deal the No. 2 pick to pair Antetokounmpo and Victor Wembanyama. But think about it: Giannis — who is reportedly “open-minded” about his future — is still very much in his prime. The Mavs were a play-in team that will have two superstars in Kyrie Irving and Anthony Davis on the roster next year. They’ve got some depth.
So … it’s not THAT crazy to think about, even if Cooper Flagg is a potentially generational superstar. If the Bucks are looking for a good return that keeps them winning enough to avoid the lottery with all those picks they owe the Blazers, this is a good route.
Hmmm.
