Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant exited the second quarter of an NBA playoff game against the OKC Thunder on Thursday with a hip contusion. He will not return.
Morant took a hard fall while attempting a layup with 3:15 left until halftime. He was clipped in the air by Lu Dort, who slipped, and the play was not upgraded to a flagrant after further review.
Morant was playing his best basketball of the series prior to the injury. He recorded 15 points and five assists in only 16 minutes of action.
