Kevin Garnett tried to counsel Zion Williamson as he stares down a shaky future with the New Orleans Pelicans.
Zion Williamson is one of the most talented NBA players around today. The Duke standout was considered a future superstar when he first entered the league.
But a myriad of injuries and some bad habits meant Williamson sat on the sidelines for much of his time in the NBA.
And now, it looks like his future with the New Orleans Pelicans is up in the air. The Pelicans fired GM David Griffin after years of failed team building.
Joe Dumars has been named as his successor, who could decide to call time on the Zion Williamson experiment in New Orleans.

Kevin Garnett gives Zion Williamson advice
Kevin Garnett spoke on his show with Paul Pierce about Zion Williamson’s situation in New Orleans. He had some sage advice.
Garnett added that he doesn’t know what Zion wants to do. But he encouraged him to focus on trying to show people just how special he is, regardless of where he ends up.
“It comes down to where Zion wants to play. Sometimes, when a player misses a lot of games, I get it, there’s a medical staff.”
“Zion, I don’t know where you at, my boy, you’ve got to lock in, you’ve got the chance to be something special. I’ve said this countless times, I’m not nitpicking at nothing, I’m just saying something you can be, you can be great, bro. Tap in, bro. Real s***.”

Is the Pelicans star running out of chances?
Regardless of where Zion Williamson goes this summer, it might be his final opportunity to make an NBA career as an all-time great.
Carmelo Anthony wants to see Williamson return to North Carolina to play for the Hornets. Perhaps returning close to his old stomping grounds could inspire Williamson to perform.
Kendrick Perkins hinted at Zion fixing many problems in his routine and camp. So this could allow the Pelicans to find confidence to take another chance on Williamson.
Wherever he goes, next season is make-or-break for Zion Williamson. And it’s time he steps up and shows just why he was one of the best prospects in recent history.
