SALT LAKE CITY – The Utah Jazz have named Marque Denmon the new public address announcer for games beginning in the 2025-26 season.

Denmon is replacing Dan Roberts, who served as the team’s in-arena voice for 46 years.

Marque Denmon Joins Jazz As PA Announcer

Having spent time with the Auburn men’s basketball team, the Atlanta Dream of the WNBA, the Atlanta Braves, and the Harlem Globetrotters, Denmon will fill the big shoes left vacant with Roberts’ retirement.

“Jazz fans are legendary for their electricity and I look forward to experiencing that, getting into the Jazz basketball atmosphere,” Denmon said in a release from the team.

The new voice of the team will host a meet-and-greet with fans at Mid City Pub and Grill in Midvale, Utah, on October 8 while the Jazz are on the road to open the preseason against the Houston Rockets.

“Marque brings incredible experience and a unique energy to this role,” Jazz president of revenue Chris Barney said. “We’re excited for fans to hear him this season.”

The Jazz will host their first preseason game at Delta Center on Monday, October 13, against the Dallas Mavericks.

Denmon Replaces Legend In Dan Roberts

Denmon will take the place of Roberts, who began calling games at the Salt Palace for the Jazz in 1979, when the team moved from New Orleans to Utah.

Roberts’ 46 seasons with the team made him the longest tenured PA voice in the NBA.

After 45 seasons, more than 2,135 games and more iconic calls than we could count, next season will be the final one for the longest-tenured PA announcer in the NBA.

Thank you, Dan Roberts. We can’t wait to celebrate you this year 🎤💜 pic.twitter.com/zXk4Rj4fhx
