The Denver Nuggets have several new players joining the roster for the 2025-26 NBA season.

Evidently, the NBA Training Camp and preseason games are the perfect time for head coach David Adelman to try new tactics.

The biggest change that the Denver Nuggets made this offseason was upgrading the quality of role players on the bench.

Speaking of which, veteran forward Aaron Gordon shared his honest take on the performances of three Nuggets players in practice.

For starters, Gordon started his media interview following Day 3 of training camp by praising coach Adelman.

“The level of talent that we have in the gym right now, the intent. DA is doing a great job of managing us,” Gordon said.

He then talked about 23-year-old guard/forward Peyton Watson, who will enter Year 4 with the Nuggets.

“The young guys are doing it better, P Wat is doing it different, getting to his stuff. His shot-making ability, his pace to the game, he’s picking his spots, he’s doing it at both ends. P Wat is hooping.”

Moving on, Jonas Valanciunas has been one of the most talked-about signings of the offseason. Earlier, Bruce Brown praised Valanciunas for replicating Nikola Jokic’s skill with the second unit.

Now, Gordon stated: “He’s good, man, he’s really good, his finishing around the rim, his passing ability. How big he is, his presence.”

Aaron Gordon says Cameron Johnson is a ‘great fit’

The Nuggets made another blockbuster move by trading for Cameron Johnson from the Brooklyn Nets. In exchange, they sent Michael Porter Jr. to the Eastern Conference.

Despite not officially making his debut with the Nuggets, Johnson has already impressed Gordon with his performance in practice.

“Great, Cam fits in great. He has a quick trigger, so he’s always open, he’s able to make quick decisions off the bounce, and he’s smart.

“He’s doing it on the defensive end too, he’s communicative, so he’s talking. He’s a hell of a ball player,” Gordon concluded.

All signs point to a terrific campaign from the Nuggets and possibly a shot at winning the second NBA Championship in franchise history.
