Giannis Antetokounmpo is a two-time MVP and a Finals MVP. He was drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks and repaid that faith by delivering the city’s first NBA championship in 50 years. The Greek Freak is 30 years old and right in the middle of his prime, though, so he’s not quite ready to rest on his laurels.

Antetokounmpo has made it clear that contending for championships is what’s most important to him. He’s suggested in the recent past that if he must leave the Bucks for that to happen, it’s an option. Giannis was heavily linked with a trade this offseason, but one did not materialize. However, Brian Windhorst claims that it’s very likely to happen at some point.

Windy:

“There has been an expectation for quite some time that Giannis’ days in Milwaukee one way or another are numbered. Whether that was gonna happen this year, whether it’s gonna happen potentially during this season, or whether it could happen next summer” pic.twitter.com/KNkKxeulcy

“There has been an expectation for quite some time that Giannis’ days in Milwaukee, one way or another, are numbered,” Windhorst said on ESPN. “Whether that was going to happen this year, whether it’s going to happen potentially during this season, or whether it could happen next summer.”

The Bucks have made moves this offseason. Moving on from Damian Lillard was a big one, and they’ve acquired a big-name center in Myles Turner. However, very few would suggest that Milwaukee is a legitimate championship contender. It seems like Antetokounmpo might be leaving soon enough after all.
