The Los Angeles Lakers will host the Golden State Warriors for the second game of the night. Before that, we will see the Oklahoma City Thunder, the 2025 NBA champions, host fellow Western Conference powerhouse, the Houston Rockets.
The Thunder will unveil their banner and rings in front of their home crowd, while their former superstar, Kevin Durant of the Rockets, will be on the other side.
Durant will watch his former team unveil a championship banner, one that many hoped he’d do in his time in Oklahoma City. The crowd will be amped, and the game itself is expected to be a doozy.

The 37-year-old superstar will look to get his team off to a fantastic start. However, before the season gets going, Durant appeared on the Up and Adams show with Kay Adams and spoke on a variety of topics.
Adams mentioned his former teammate and future Hall of Famer, Russell Westbrook, and the possibility of him joining Durant in Houston.
The 15-time All-Star shared his honest thoughts on the potential pairing.
“Russ is a legend, and I think he deserves to be in the NBA right now. I think he deserves to walk out of the NBA on his terms. So yeah, that would be dope,” Durant said of the Rockets signing Westbrook.

The Rockets lost their star guard, Fred VanVleet, for the entire season with a torn ACL during an unofficial team workout in late September.

Westbrook, the nine-time All-Star, played for the Rockets for one season during the 2019-20 season. He had one of his better seasons in H-Town, and there is a possibility of him rejoining the team as the Rockets need to fill that hole as the season approaches.
Houston is in need of adding depth to the point guard position. Westrbook has shown that he still has plenty left in the tank.
Durant and Westbrook have had their fair share of difficulties in the past, but the two remain close and have a mutual respect for one another. If the Rockets believe that Westbrook can fit in well, they could end up giving him a chance this season.
