Keldon Johnson is kicking off the season with a rejuvenated excitement. Already a high-energy player who wore his heart on his sleeve, Johnson has taken on more of a leadership role with the team. He emceed the karaoke performances for the Spurs scrimmage. He can be seen inspiring the team in huddles. And he’s spent the preseason as a scoring machine, nailing 76% in the first two games.
Reunited with his #3 jersey appears to put Johnson into the right head space. As the longest tenured member of the team, he is one of the leaders, setting the tone for rookies and veterans alike.
Today, Keldon turns twenty-six-years-old. He enters his seventh season. Already an impressive career, Keldon shined during the pandemic, separating himself from the pack. His energy and enthusiasm paired with his basketball IQ earned him a spot on the 2020 US Men’s Olympic Basketball team, where he picked up a gold medal.
Johnson, playing alongside the last two Rookies of the Year, as well as a 2024 NBA champion, and 2023’s Clutch Player of the Year, is geared up to make a title run in the next couple of years.
He’s got all the making necessary to help push the team to the next level.
