The 2025-26 NBA season will mark Kevin Durant’s 18th year in the NBA.

After a disappointing tenure with the Phoenix Suns, Kevin Durant will hope for a better stint with the Houston Rockets.

While Durant remains an elite player, let’s not forget he’s already 37 years old. So, does the Slim Reaper think about calling it a day?

Joining the Rockets may seem like a last-ditch effort by Durant to win the third NBA Championship of his career, but according to his agent Rich Kleiman, that’s not the case.

If anything, KD doesn’t even talk with his agent about potentially retiring from the NBA.

“In those three times a day that we talk, probably for a grand total of six minutes, but in those three times a day we talk, never do we talk about when is the end, or when do you think you’ll hang it up?

“I think something that’s obviously happened across sports over the last decade or such is that age where you think that players should be done has grown,” Kleiman said, via SiriusXM NBA Radio.

Kleiman then cited the examples of LeBron James, Stephen Curry, and more old NBA stars, who are still elite despite being well into their 30s.

“… You look at LeBron, clearly, but also James Harden, Russell Westbrook, Steph, KD – these guys are still elite,” he added.

While LBJ’s retirement remains a burning topic, it sometimes diminishes the impressive longevity of his peers. Either way, it’s safe to assume that KD is going nowhere anytime soon.

Rich Kleiman makes 37 is the new 32 statement

Durant may indulge in calling out fans on social media from time to time, but that doesn’t mean the Rockets star isn’t focused on his craft.

Kleiman revealed that Durant still very much loves spending time in the gym and is fond of his NBA journey.

“He loves going to the gym, loves the journey. He’ll continue to play as long as he loves it and as long as he’s healthy. I think he’s still a ways from [retirement],” Kleiman continued.

“He’s just turned 37 and I think 37 now is like 32 back in the day,” the super agent concluded.

The development of modern medicine has certainly helped stars extend their NBA careers in the modern era.

It’s ultimately good news for NBA fans as they get to witness the greatness of the superstars for longer than ever.
