Bangor, Maine—Day’s Jewelers created something special for Maine native and No.1 NBA Draft Pick Cooper Flagg.

The New England jeweler gifted custom jewelry to the Dallas Mavericks player and his family to honor their bond and Maine roots.

The Flagg family helped to create the “F5” design, a nod to the five members of the family, including parents Kelly and Ralph Flagg and their three sons, Cooper, Ace, and Hunter.
The 14-karat white gold and diamond jewels feature a State of Maine-shaped bail or charm.

Day’s Jewelers created custom “F5” jewels for the Flagg family.

“We are so proud of Cooper and the entire Flagg family – not only for what they’ve accomplished, but for the way they represent Maine with humility and heart,” said Nikia Levesque-Meyer, vice president of marketing at Day’s Jewelers.

“Jewelry has a way of transcending time and distance. These custom F5 pieces mean that no matter where life takes them, each family member carries a symbol of their story, their pride, and their unbreakable connection to one another.”

The jeweler presented the family with the jewels at its store in Bangor, Maine.

Prior to his preseason debut with the Mavericks, Flagg took a trip home to Maine last month to surprise his mom, Kelly Flagg, ahead returning home ahead of her induction into the Maine Sports Hall of Fame.

The family sported their F5 jewelry at the event.

Kelly was recognized for her time as a basketball player and a coach at the University of Maine, where she was a member of the only team in the school’s history to win an NCAA tournament game, according to a local report.

The Flagg family is full of gifted athletes. Cooper’s twin brother Ace Flagg is a freshman on the University of Maine men’s basketball team. Ralph Flagg also played college basketball in Maine.

“We are so incredibly grateful that Day’s Jewelers made us these amazing custom pieces. They are a beautiful representation of family and home,” said Kelly Flagg.

The jewelry from Day’s Jewelers is a full circle moment for Kelly and her husband Ralph Flagg. The pair purchased her engagement ring at the Bangor store in 1997, nearly three decades ago.
