Major League Sports Teams to Root for in Colorado
One of the perks of living in Colorado is having your choice of major league sports teams to watch and root for.
Northern Colorado Pride: College and Local Teams
As someone who lives in Windsor, I understand just how lucky I am.
Here in Northern Colorado, I’ve got CSU and UNC to root for during college game days.
We can check out some of the most talented, up and coming athletes in the country on a random weekend.
Isn’t that awesome?

And we’ve also got a stellar AHL team in the Colorado Eagles to check out during hockey season! During the 2024-2025 season, the team made it all the way to the Calder Cup Playoffs, with the Eagles playing in the Western Conference semifinals.
The 2025-2026 season kicked off in October and we’re all stoked to see just how far the NoCo based team will get this time around.
Don’t forget you can listen live to the Colorado Eagles on game day through 99.1 The Point.
Check out the full season schedule here.

Close to the Action: Denver’s Major League Sports Scene
To make things even better, we’re just an hour drive from Denver (depending on traffic and road work of course).
As someone who lived in Iowa for four years, I could not be happier to be that close to a city with five major league sports teams.
My First Denver Nuggets Game Experience at Ball Arena
I decided to take advantage of this and check out my very first NBA game. Tickets for the Tuesday, October 14th preseason matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the Chicago Bulls were relatively cheap online.
I ended up paying just over $36 for two balcony seats at Ball Arena. At first, I was incredibly nervous that since I sprung for the “cheap seats” we wouldn’t have a good view of the game.

There Are No Bad Seats at Ball Arena in Denver
OH MY GOODNESS WAS I WRONG!
There are no bad seats at Ball Arena. Even from our point of view, we were able to enjoy the game and see the players.
How I Discovered How Fun the Denver Nuggets Really Are
As someone who knew almost nothing about the team before going to the game, I quickly picked up on just how awesome and fun to watch the Nuggets are.
With players like Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokić, how could you not want to cheer these guys on?

Denver Nuggets vs. Chicago Bulls October 14th: Game Recap
The Colorado team came in early on with a strong lead against the Bulls. For most of the game, the Nuggets dominated. Murray actually dropped a team-high of thirty points on this Tuesday night matchup.
Towards the tail end of the night, Chicago closed the large gap and ended up losing by only seven points. The Denver Nuggets came out on top and won 124 to 117.
Ball Arena Food Deals and Prices
Outside of watching the actual game, I of course had to check out the food selection at Ball Arena.
Arena officials recently announced a new $5 deal on some of their concessions. You can snag food like popcorn, French fries, hotdogs, as well as nachos with cheese for just $5.
These are available at all levels of the arena.
Check out more details about food prices and some of their new dining options here.

Best Bang for Your Buck: Ball Arena Food and Ice Cream
I made sure to take a look at some of the newer food stands before deciding to treat myself and just got a soft serve ice cream cone. My friend and I both snagged a cone with a swirl for $9 each.
The cone was pretty massive, so personally I think it was a great bang for our buck.
Denver Nuggets Game Parking Tips
Honestly, the priciest thing at the game was parking. Since it was my friend and I’s first time going to the area, we weren’t too familiar with the different parking options.
We could have parked a mile away at my friend’s office and walk.
Since it was an 8:00 PM game, we opted to park right by Ball Arena in their parking lot out of an abundance of caution.
Parking was $40 with a card and $45 if you paid in cash. Again, we were parked right by the arena and we were able to get out quickly.
Total Cost to See the Denver Nuggets in 2025
Overall, we spent a total of $94, so $47 a person to go see the Denver Nuggets.
If you take into account parking, tickets, food, drinks, and merchandise the average cost of attending an NBA game for a family of four is approximately $320, according to reports.
How the Denver Nuggets Rank in NBA Ticket Prices
In 2024, the Denver Nuggets placed 16th among all 30 NBA teams in terms of game-day expenses for fans.
Personally, I think it’s worth it to check out a team this close to home. I will definitely be going to check out more Denver Nuggets games in the future!
