The OKC Thunder is set to begin the 2025-26 NBA season, which starts on Oct. 21.
Expectations will be high for the Thunder. It won its first-ever championship last season and is looking to become the first team to win consecutive titles since Golden State in 2017 and 2018.
Here’s what you need to know about OKC’s schedule this upcoming season:
OKC will have 34 nationally-televised games
OKC will have 34 nationally-televised games, which is tied for the highest total in the NBA. It shares that top spot with Golden State, New York and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Thunder will play on multiple premier dates
OKC will tip off the season with a home game against Houston on Oct. 21. It marks Opening Night for the NBA and ring night for the Thunder.
OKC will also host San Antonio on Dec. 25, marking its first Christmas Day game since 2018-19. And it’ll travel to face Cleveland on Jan. 19 — Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
OKC will compete in the annual NBA Cup
OKC has been placed in Group A of the annual NBA Cup. It’s joined by Minnesota, Sacramento, Phoenix and Utah.
OKC will play all four of its group play games in November. It’ll face Sacramento (Nov. 7) and Utah (Nov. 21) on the road, followed by home games against Minnesota (Nov. 26) and Phoenix (Nov. 28). The knockout rounds of the NBA Cup will unfold in December with the quarterfinals (Dec. 9-10), semifinals (Dec. 13) and championship (Dec. 16).
Thunder’s longest road trip is from March 17-25
OKC will play five consecutive road games across nine days from March 17-25. That marks its longest road trip of the season.
OKC will travel to face Orlando (March 17), Brooklyn (March 18), Washington (21), Philadelphia (March 23) and Boston (March 25).
OKC’s longest homestand is from March 27-April 5
The Thunder will play five consecutive home games across 10 days from March 27-April 5. That marks its longest homestand of the season.
OKC will host Chicago (March 27), New York (March 29), Detroit (March 30), the Los Angeles Lakers (April 2) and Utah (April 5).
