On the precipice of the NBA season officially kicking off and an undefeated pre-season run, the San Antonio Spurs are stepping into the spotlight in another way: The latest H-E-B commercials featuring some of our beloved Silver and Black players ahead of the tip off of the NBA season on Tuesday, October 21.
The Spurs will play in the first regular game of the season on Wednesday, October 22, against the Mavericks in Dallas. The first home game of the regular season will be on October 26 against the Brooklyn Nets.
The new commercial premiered on Saturday, October 18, featuring De’Aaron Fox for the first time alongside Victor Wembanyama. The ad also features appearances by the beloved Coyote, Jeremy Sochan, Stephon Castle, Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson.

The goofy ad starts with Fox, who returned to Texas with the trade from the Sacramento Kings last season, asking Wemby if he needs anything from H-E-B on a grocery run. Our resident extraterrestrial pulls out a list that is not only taller than he is at 7 feet, 4 inches, but is so long that is rolls out of the room, down the stairs, through the practice facility, chasing Coyote down through the end of the 30-second ad.
H-E-B said that fans can expect another new commercial to air in the coming months that will also feature Wembanyama and Fox prominently, alongside Stephon Castle and viewers can expect some “South Texas flair.” The upcoming ad is also the first H-E-B commercial appearance for Castle.

The commercials will air throughout the season on TVs around San Antonio, Austin and other South Texas cities, H-E-B said in a news release. The company said that H-E-B and the Spurs will be giving out tickets, swag and other prizes to fans throughout the opening week of the season.
