Toronto Raptors rookie forward Collin Murray-Boyles was limited in practice on Monday due to an ongoing injury, head coach Darko Rajaković said afterward.
Murray-Boyles missed the last three games of the preseason with the Raptors because of an elbow injury sustained on Oct. 10 in a win over the Boston Celtics. Rajaković said that X-rays came back negative after Murray-Boyles was limited to eight minutes in that contest.
The ninth pick in the 2025 NBA draft practiced on Monday but was held out of the non-contact portion of the session. He is considered day-to-day with the injury.
Murray-Boyles averaged 6.7 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 assists on 44.4% shooting from the field in three preseason appearances. He registered his most productive outing on Oct. 8 with 12 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two blocked shots.
The 6-foot-7 forward is highly touted because of his defensive intensity, post presence and ability to make plays for others. He also added a 3-point shot last season and should be able to develop into a solid floor spacer at the next level with additional reps.
Murray-Boyles’ status for the regular-season opener on Wednesday is in doubt after being limited on the court this week in practice. The Raptors will provide an update on his availability on Tuesday when they submit their initial injury report for the contest.
