There’s the hype that the Oklahoma City Thunder could become just the third NBA team to win at least 70 regular season games. On the flip side, some think the title run won’t be repeated in 2025-26.
If the Thunder stars stay healthy, 70-plus is a possibility, but when it comes to another championship they don’t need that milestone. The more important goal is to win enough to earn the top overall seed like last season.
The prediction here is a 64-18 season, top seed in the playoffs and a return to the NBA Finals. The Thunder are too deep, still young and hungry to prove last season wasn’t a one-off. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is in his prime and is primed for another MVP season.
The concerns? You can never predict how injuries could affect things, and this will obviously be the first time OKC will have such a bullseye on their backs. Complacency shouldn’t be an issue, thanks to an unrelenting culture Sam Presti and Mark Daigneault have grown over the years.
