We’re almost there, almost back in the grind of another college basketball season. Before you know it, there will be a foot of snow on the ground, temperatures will be below zero and another Atlantic Coast Conference game going up and down the court inside Purcell Pavilion.
To get you ready for those nights and get you ready for a Notre Dame season that starts Monday, November 3 at home against LIU Brooklyn, we’ll take an alphabetical player-by-player look at the 2025-26 Notre Dame basketball team over the next 13 weekdays (Wednesday October 15 thru Friday, October 31). Who are these guys? What did they do last year? Where do they fit in this one? And what does third-year head coach Micah Shrewsberry think of them?

(10) Jalen Haralson
Hometown (High School): Anderson, Indiana (La Lumiere School)
Dimensions: 6-foot-7, 215 pounds
Projected position: Starting wing guard
Class: Freshman
Notable number: A consensus Top 20 recruit – No. 18 by 247Sports, 19 by ESPN.com and 20 by Rivals.com − Haralson is the highest-rated recruit to sign with Notre Dame in the modern era.
24-25 stats: Averaged 16.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists as a McDonald’s High School All-American.
25-26 outlook: Haralson fancied himself during the recruiting process as a potential college one-and-done, but it may be a bit early to peg him only the second in program history (Blake Wesley). Haralson does a lot well, and that should translate into the starting wing guard spot. He might be more of a connector (someone whose presence makes everyone on the floor better) than someone who’s going to take over games and wow you. He’ll have ample opportunity to showcase his skills.
Shrews on Haralson: “I’ve been really impressed with Jalen in a lot of areas. He’s a good basketball player. I’ve been impressed with how hard he’s competed defensively. That’s something you have no idea as a freshman, as a good player, how they’re going to come in and try and guard people. He’s bought into what we’re trying to do.”
