Slamson, Kings’ emcee Scott Freshour join KCRA 3 to celebrate return of NBA
SO LOOKING FORWARD TO TRYING THAT WINE. AND NOW OF COURSE FANS HAVE A LOT TO BE EXCITED ABOUT THIS SEASON AS WE GET READY FOR THE START OF THE NEW SEASON. JOINING US NOW IS THE KINGS EMCEE, SCOTT FRESHOUR, AND OF COURSE, SLAMSON HIMSELF, AND HE’S BEEN GETTING IN THE PUSH UPS, PUTTING IN THE WORK THIS SEASON. SO WHAT CAN FANS LOOK FORWARD TO THIS YEAR WITH THE START OF THE NEW SEASON? WELL, THERE’S ALWAYS A LOT OF EXCITEMENT AROUND THIS TIME OF YEAR BECAUSE THE NBA SEASON KICKS OFF TONIGHT BEFORE THE KINGS. IT WILL KICK OFF TOMORROW IN PHOENIX AND THEN AT HOME THIS FRIDAY AGAINST THE UTAH JAZZ. AND WE HAVE A LOT OF ENTERTAINMENT PLANNED FOR THIS YEAR. WE’VE GOT SOME EXCITING HALFTIMES. MY GUY SLAMSON IS GOING TO BE BRINGING IT EVERY NIGHT. YOU KNOW, HE WAS BEING GOOFY OFF CAMERA. HE’S LIKE THAT 24 HOURS A DAY. IT’S IT’S PRETTY INCREDIBLE. AND ALSO THE LAUNCH OF KINGS COUNTDOWN, WHICH IS KIND OF LIKE OUR OUR COLLEGE GAME DAY EXPERIENCE OUT THERE IN THE DOCO PLAZA. SO WE’LL BE STARTING THAT UP AT 430. SO THERE’S GOING TO BE A LOT OF FUN AND ENTERTAINMENT HAPPENING AROUND THE GAME ON FRIDAY. ALL RIGHT. TO DO BEFORE WE ARE EXCITED ABOUT THE SEASON. BUT THERE ARE ALREADY SOME HATERS OUT THERE. I MEAN, ESPN, ESPN IS SAYING 7% CHANCE THE TEAM IS GOING TO MAKE IT TO THE PLAYOFFS. WHAT DO YOU SAY TO THAT? I SAY, I SAY THAT THEY’RE CRAZY. I THINK I THINK IF YOU LOOK AT THIS ROSTER, THIS IS A LOT OF TALENT. AND IF ANYBODY CAN GET THESE GUYS TO ALL BUY INTO A TEAM FIRST SYSTEM, IT’S DOUG CHRISTIE. I ACTUALLY THINK THIS TEAM IS GOING TO PERFORM A LOT BETTER THAN A LOT OF THESE NATIONAL HATERS. YEAH, AND I’M TALKING TO YOU. QUIT HATING. WELL, IT SEEMS LIKE A LOT OF THE PLAYERS ON THE TEAM SEEM REALLY FOCUSED THIS YEAR. THERE SEEMS TO BE A LITTLE BIT MORE CAMARADERIE. AND THEN WE’RE ALSO SEEING A LOT OF THOSE SENIOR PLAYERS REALLY STEPPING UP TO THE PLATE AND TRYING TO BE LEADERS. FOR SOME OF THOSE YOUNGER PLAYERS, FOR SURE, AND THEY’VE SEEN THOSE POLLS THAT YOU’VE TALKED ABOUT FROM SOME, YOU KNOW, BLOGGERS ON THE EAST COAST OR WHATEVER IT MIGHT BE, BUT THAT FIRES THESE GUYS UP. THESE GUYS ARE PROFESSIONALS. WE’VE GOT HALL OF FAMERS, WE’VE GOT FORMER MVP’S, WE’VE GOT A COUPLE GUYS THAT CAN AVERAGE A TRIPLE DOUBLE EVERY NIGHT. SO THERE’S, YOU KNOW, DON’T SLEEP ON THE SACRAMENTO KINGS. AND YOU’RE GOING TO SEE A LOT OF THESE VETERANS STEPPING UP AND TEACHING THESE YOUNG GUYS HOW TO BRING IT EVERY SINGLE NIGHT SO WE CAN BE LIGHTING A BEAM. YES. THAT’S WHAT WE WANT TO DO. THAT’S FOR SURE. HEY, SCOTT, THANKS SO MUCH FOR JOINING US. WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO THE SEASON. WE APPRECIATE Y
