One of LeBron James’ former opponents believes he could be losing patience with playing in the NBA.

While he is likely to never overhaul Michael Jordan in the GOAT debate, what LeBron James is doing at 40-years-old is seriously impressive.

However, his dream of winning his fifth championship came crashing down in the first round of the playoffs when the LA Lakers were eliminated by the Minnesota Timberwolves.

He is expected to return for the 2025-26 season, although he is yet to publicly confirm his decision.

Former Atlanta Hawks star Jeff Teague spoke during the playoffs to say he felt like LeBron James was not playing with the fire he once was.

And now during a recent discussion on his Club 520 podcast, about whether LeBron’s second son Bryce James could join him in the NBA, Teague expressed doubts.

Teague feels LeBron James is showing signs of mental fatigue with competing in the NBA.

He said: “He kind of giving hints off that he tired of playing. Not tired, but like giving hints, I’m passing it off to the next generation.”

Asked if the signs are there he wants to call is quits, he responded, “Yeah they there.”

He also referenced LeBron James’ post playoff exit joke about being traded like Anthony Davis, which was later accused of being disrespectful.

Teague said this was a comment LeBron would never have made in the past during his peak years.

“He wouldn’t joke about nothing, getting traded, ever.”

One of the biggest problems LeBron James has faced during his career was an issue for him in the playoffs, production in the fourth quarter.

Overall, LeBron’s contribution across five games in the series against the Timberwolves was impressive despite his team’s 4-1 collapse.

Data shows LeBron averaged 25.4 points per game and 9.0 rebounds. He had to take on extra defensive work due to the Lakers’ unbalanced roster, which is set to be addressed in the offseason.

When it comes to LeBron James sticking around to try and play with Bryce James in addition to son Bronny James, Teague is doubtful.

He said: “I don’t think his son thinking about the NBA. I think Bryce is gonna be a cool college player.”
