The Dallas Mavericks host the Washington Wizards on Friday night in their second straight home game. The game starts at 7:30 pm and will be broadcast on Channel 29 locally (KFAA) as well as MavsTV for streaming. If you’re outside the market you can watch it on NBA League Pass.
The first game of the season was nothing short of awful, with Dallas getting blown out and embarrassed. Perhaps we’ll see a crew of players ready to actually defend the paint against a Wizards team that has young talent, but doesn’t make a lot of sense on paper.
On the injury front, Kyrie Irving is obviously out for the Mavericks. Daniel Gafford is still out with the ankle sprain and Dante Exum is out with whatever in the world is wrong with his knee. The Wizards will be without rangy forward Bilal Coulibaly.
Tre Johnson, the Wizards pick in this last year’s draft, won the Texas 6A state championship with Lake Highlands in 2023 (he spent his senior year at a prep school). He’s really fun. Keep an eye on him.
As you can tell below, you can join me in a room on Playback (embed below) during the game (though I may not be able to start it until halftime). Also consider joining Josh and I on Pod Maverick live after the game on YouTube, we should start around 10:15 pm. Thanks so much for spending time with us here at Mavs Moneyball. Let’s go Mavs!
