The Philadelphia 76ers will play host to the Orlando Magic on Monday as they look to improve on their 2-0 start. The Sixers have rallied from double-digit deficits to win their first two games of the season and will look to keep things moving in the right direction.
They will continue to be a bit short-handed as Jared McCain remains sidelined. The second-year guard out of Duke has yet to play in the 2025-26 season as he continues to recover from right-hand surgery. He suffered a torn UCL in his right thumb shortly before training camp that required surgery.
Joel Embiid will be sidelined against the Magic due to left knee injury management. It is the first night of a back-to-back so the Sixers, of course, would like to sit Embiid for one of those contests. He won’t play in back-to-backs just yet.
Dominick Barlow is also out due to a right elbow laceration. With Embiid and Barlow out, the Sixers will likely turn to Andre Drummond who was a hero in Saturday’s win over the Charlotte Hornets.
As for Paul George, he continues to recover from offseason left knee surgery so he will remain out against the Magic. It’s clear the Sixers are doing their best to make sure he takes it slowly in his recovery.
Trendon Watford also remains out due to left hamstring tightness. Both George and Watford are likely close to a return as they are both working their way back into practice.
The Sixers and the Magic will tip off at 7 p.m. EDT on Monday night from the Xfinity Mobile Arena.
