PHILADELPHIA — As the Philadelphia 76ers prepare to take on the Orlando Magic on Monday night, they convened at the Xfinity Mobile Arena for morning shootaround. The Sixers went through their post shootaround drills, but there was one player who stood out: Jared McCain.
McCain, who hasn’t played yet in 2025-26 as he recovers from a torn UCL in his right thumb, was putting up shots off the dribble and in catch-and-shoot situations after shootaround on Monday morning. He was working out with assistant coach Rico Hines and it’s a good sign for the Sixers that he was back working on things.

He remains out against the Magic, but his re-evaluation period is coming up very soon.
When McCain returns, he will give the Sixers yet another guard who can dribble, attack the basket, make plays for others, and shoot the ball. His return will give Philadelphia another offensive weapon and grow the versatile attack coach Nick Nurse and his staff are implementing.
