Bryan Armetta breaks down Tuesday’s five-game featured NBA slate to find three undervalued players to slot into your lineups.
After just one week of NBA action, it’s difficult to get a read on most clubs. Tuesday’s five games offer a chance to assess some would-be contenders, including the Knicks, Bucks, Clippers and Warriors.
With several high-profile stars taking the court, there’s a few names worth building around in DFS. However, that means a low-cost pick or two is needed in your lineups. Which underpriced players should fantasy basketball maangers target tonight?

SG Lu Dort, Oklahoma City Thunder vs. SAC ($4,700)
On a Thunder squad loaded with terrific role players, Lu Dort stands out. The Canadian has made a name for himself as one of the NBA’s premier pests. Last season, he even earned a well-deserved selection to the All-Defensive First Team. Still, the 26-year-old is your classic ‘beyond the box score’ kind of player. In other words, his contributions help more in real life than they do in fantasy.
With that being said, injuries for Oklahoma City have opened things up on offense. Jalen Williams (wrist) and Chet Holmgren (back) are both out of action. That opens up a clear path for Dort to log at least 30 minutes against the Kings on Tuesday. Sacramento’s lackluster defense has surrendered the most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season. Dort has shot an abysmal 8-of-34 (23.5%) through four games. Anything close to 40% from the field tonight would be positive regression to the mean. Factor in some rebounds and defensive stats, and OKC’s secret weapon has serious upside.
PG Russell Westbrook, Sacramento Kings at OKC ($4,500)
The last big (relatively) move of the offseason saw Russell Westbrook ink a one-year deal with the Kings. It’s been an interesting past few seasons for the former MVP. Now serving as a high-energy role player, the guard’s stat lines can vary from night to night. Still, at his best, Russ can serve as an offensive hub off the bench. That was the case on Sunday vs. the Lakers. Against Los Angeles, the nine-time All-Star notched 18 points, six rebounds and six assists. In addition, he logged a season-high 27 minutes.
It wasn’t quite vintage Westbrook, but last weekend’s performance shows the veteran still has something to prove. Sacramento will be short-handed on Tuesday, with Keegan Murray (thumb) and rookie Nique Clifford (hamstring) ruled out. That’s a tough blow going into a road contest with the defending champs. Oklahoma City’s defense is arguably the best in basketball, making this a tricky matchup. Still, Westbrook should be amped up for a game against his old team. As previously mentioned, OKC will also be without some of its best defenders. Russ is a potential steal at only $4,500 tonight.
PF/C Moussa Diabaté, Charlotte Hornets at MIA ($4,200)
Entering the year, center was a major question mark for the Hornets. It’s early, but head coach Charles Lee may have found an answer. Rookie Ryan Kalkbrenner ($4,600) has done a terrific job down low, offering shot-blocking prowess and touch around the rim. However, the youngster has been locked into a near-50/50 split with fellow big man Moussa Diabaté. The Frenchman was a bright spot during an otherwise lost 2024-25 season in Charlotte. This season, he’s averaging 10.3 points and 7.0 rebounds in just over 20 minutes per game.
That level of production in such a limited amount of time is impressive. It’ll be put to the test tonight against the Heat and defensive standout Bam Adebayo ($8,000). Miami is holding opposing centers to the sixth-fewest fantasy points in basketball. However, there comes a point where the cost is too low to ignore. On a limited slate, getting someone with double-double potential at $4,200 is good value. Outside of Bam and Kel’el Ware ($4,900), the Heat are lacking in size. Diabaté could feast against a subpar second unit on Tuesday.
