The Orlando Magic (1-3) face the Detroit Pistons (2-2) Wednesday with tip-off from Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan, set for 7 p.m. ET. Let’s analyze BetMGM Sportsbook’s NBA odds around the Magic vs. Pistons odds and make our expert NBA picks and predictions for the best bets.
2024-25 season series: Magic won 2-1
The Magic dropped their third straight game Monday night, falling 136-124 to the Philadelphia 76ers as 6.5-point road favorites as the Over (227) comfortably hit. F Paolo Banchero led the way with 32 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists as all 5 Orlando’s starters reached double figures and the team shot an efficient 54.9% from the field. But 13 turnovers proved too costly to overcome.
The Pistons couldn’t keep pace Monday night, suffering a 116-95 home loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers and missing as 2.5-point underdogs as the Under (231) cashed. Detroit never found a rhythm offensively, shooting below 37.9% from the floor and turning the ball over 26 times. G Cade Cunningham led the Pistons with just 12 points.

BET PISTONS (-105).
I’m rolling with the Pistons on the moneyline Wednesday night — and the timing couldn’t be better for Detroit to grab a win at home.
Orlando is riding a 3-game losing streak and hasn’t covered a single spread yet this season. Their defense — usually their calling card — completely fell apart Monday, giving up 136 points to Philadelphia. Even Banchero admitted their up-tempo offense has caused some mix-ups defensively, and teams are taking advantage. That’s the kind of thing Detroit can exploit, especially at Little Caesars Arena, where they finished 22-19 last season.
The Pistons were flat against Cleveland, no doubt, but they’ve still covered in 2 of their last 3 and should come out with some urgency. Cunningham has started the year strong and I expect him to bounce back from a poor game. Detroit’s frontcourt — Jalen Duren, Isaiah Stewart — can also give the Magic real problems inside.
Bottom line: The Magic are searching for answers, while Detroit has the matchup edges to get back on track. I like the Pistons to take care of business and pick up the win on Wednesday night.
PASS.
No need to play with this small spread, just take the Pistons moneyline.
BET OVER 225.5 (-110).
The Over looks like the right play Wednesday night. Orlando has gone Over in 4 of its last 6 games and 2 of the past 3 head-to-head matchups have topped the number. Detroit shot poorly Monday against Cleveland, but a return home should boost efficiency. With both teams pushing tempo, scoring chances should be plentiful — take the Over.
